About Grading eAssessments

Use the Auto-grading banner to understand how recently auto-grading for the assessment has been processed. Select the Refresh button in order to receive the most up-to-date results.

Test Status filter

Filter by the following question statuses in Grade View.

• All
• Needs to be Graded
• Completed
• In Progress
• Not Started

Questions filter

Filter by the following student test statuses in Grade View.

• All
• Needs to be Graded
• Correct
• Incorrect
• Partial Credit
• Not Answered

Note: The default filter status is set to All for both Test Status and Questions filters. The appearance of specific filters depends on their relevance to the selected assignment and not all filters may appear in the Grade View at all times.

Use the Question Navigation bar to:

Questions (Total #)

• View the total number of questions in the test.

Question numbers with color-coded status

• Click to access specific questions.

• View question status.

• Green with check icon — Correct

• Red with X icon— Incorrect

• Yellow with half-moon icon — Partial Credit

• Red Circle with X icon — Not Answered

• Orange Exclamation Point (!) — Needs to Be Graded

• Grey Circle – Not Started

• Grey Sphere – Question Deleted

Previous or Next Arrows

• Use to navigate backward or forward to see a series of 10 questions.

Note: The navigation arrows only appear when a test has more than 10 questions.

Use the Students list to:

• See the number of students assigned the assessment
• Sort your students in ascending or descending alphabetical order
• Review a student’s answers and assign grades.
• Add or revise comments on a student’s overall test or revise specific question comments.
• See if an open response needs grading, if students have begun their questions, understand how well they’re doing on their tests, etc.

Use the Question Display area to:

• View points earned.
• Add comments to specific questions.
• View a revision history of the changes made to open responses by students.
• View the selected question and answer choices.
• View the correct answer for auto-graded questions.
• Use the arrows to navigate the questions.
• Use the tabs at the right to access the Rubric, Passage, or Standards reference panels (depending on question type).
• See students’ open response answers.
• Select a rubric score to grade the student’s open response.
• Enter a student's answers in Work with Student One-on-One Mode.
• Re-grade an assessment.
• View the student’s name.
• Click the clipboard icon to access the student’s test-taking environment for reference.

Toggle between Classic and New

Select New to have access to both Live View and Grade View. Select Classic to have access to Grade View only.

Test Status filter

Filter by the following question statuses in Live View:

• Not Started
• In Progress
• Completed
• Needs to be Graded

Session Filter

Filter by the following in Live View:

• Active

• Inactive

Teachers can see if a student's test is:

• Not Started
• In Progress
• Complete
